Australian Institute of Sport
The Australian Institute of Sport offers additional support to Australia's best amateur male and female golfers, in their quest to break into the professional ranks.
This support, provided by Golf Australia and the Australian Sports Commission, is given to those male and female amateur golfers who represent Australia on the National team to better prepare them for the transition into professional golf.
The current AIS Golf Program is camp-based, with athletes doing much of their training in their home states. The camps make use of Golf Australia's Centre of Excellence at Moonah Links on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, as well as the main AIS training facility in Canberra.
Golf Australia acknowledges that "the primary objective of the AIS new program is be a key part of an elite pathway program that continues to produce Australian players who make the top 100 in the world professional rankings and support the promotion of the game of golf in Australia."
