Sanctioned Junior Tournaments and Events
Most WGV districts and clubs run annual junior golf tournaments. Although not officially managed by WGV these tournaments are an important part of the junior development pathway. They offer opportunities for junior girls to:
- Experience traveling around Victoria and testing their game on unfamiliar golf courses
- Meet other junior girl golfers
- Participation in the WGV Junior Averages Trophy
- Have fun and enjoy their golf
WGV fully supports junior tournaments and events managed by clubs and districts. Entry forms are available from host clubs or via the WGV Sanctioned Event page (click here)

Junior Pacific Cup 2011

The Junior Pacific Cup for 2011 was hosted at Yering Meadows (Croydon) Golf Club by Mr Ron and Mrs Jo Baddeley (Tour Managers). This prestigious international event is based on the Ryder Cup format made up of two teams of four boys and two girls from Australia and the USA.
The 2011 event was held from Sunday 9th January to Tuesday 11th January. The Australian team consisted of four boys and two girls under the age of 18:
Sean Ong (Kingswood G.C.)
Ben Eccles (The Sands Torquay)
Ben Rogers (Sorrento G.C.)
Mitchell Sheather (Long Island G.C.)
Julienne Soo (Woodlands G.C.)
Bianca Ling (Kingswood G.C.)
The Australian team fought back on the final day after being down by one match, needing to win at least four out of the six matches to maintain the title. The US were in a similar position last year on home turf, losing to Australia on the final day, therefore they were very keen to make sure that didnt happen again.
However the Australian team got off to a flying start and worked hard to keep ahead of the US team. Bianca played really well to defeat Joyce Kim 2&1, whilst Julienne scored a low round of golf to defeat Brittany Mai 2&1, halving the 17th hole with birdies. These two matches, plus wins from two out of the four boys gave Australia the title once again!
Well done to all the players!
